Unfortunately it has RAINED here and is very HUMID. We explored nevertheless. We stayed in Kowloon just across from Hong Kong Island and later read it described the "tourist ghetto" or more like endless Times Square with neon lights, junky stores and divey noodle and dumpling shops. Yesterday we went up to Victoria Peak and had a summer in San Francisco Twin Peaks experience (for those non San Franciscans this means we saw fog.) Last night Paul treated me to birthday drinks at the Penninsula Hotel- Felix Bar (beautiful hotel near the water overlooking Hong Kong skyline.) We weren't sure if it was the drink prices that had us disoriented or if the skyline actually had a light show on all of the highrises (complete with laserlights!) Pretty cool. |
