 | | Here we are in San Marco Sq. with Dachauer | | Murano glassblowers (their stuff goes to Marshals and Bloomingdale's) |
| | We made a quick stop in Venice before going to Croatia. We had both been. We had a takeout pizza by the Rialto bridge, wine and dessert in San Marco Square and we checked out the glass blowers on Murano. It's hard not to feel the romance getting lost in the the winding labryinth of streets and canals of this city until....DACHAUER. This is Paul's friend for about 20 years (also named Paul, but to avoid confusion: Dachauer) and a hopelessly loud, skirt chasing, beer guzzling American Tourist. I like Dachauer. He called us the "Bickerson's" because, let's face it, three is a crowd and traveling in trio is a challenge. Nevertheless we drank some beer with and were amused by him from Venice to Ancona to Croatia to Slovenia and we last saw him making friends with everyone in Casa Blanca Pub in Ljubljana, Slovenia before we slipped into a cab after some Slovenian grub, cocktails and a quick goodbye. Dachauer, wherever you are now, Cheers to you... |
